Filming

When it came to filming our piece there were many problems that came across which meant that it took a lot longer than originally scheduled. We were first planning on filming on 19th however, our actress had trouble getting there so had to reschedule it for the 26th. Although this gave us more time to adjust our script and find a location for another scene we were planning on doing, it meant that there was less time for editing and organising our files.

We filmed the following week. Although we were pretty well organised, with all the scripts and props ready, other uncontrollable things got in the way of our filming. The weather, which we had wanted to be sunny for the mood of our film, was quite dull and rainy. This didn’t cause a huge trouble though as we shot the outside shot lower down so the cloudy sky wouldn’t be noticed.

We also had small problem with the camera as it ran out of batteries as soon as we started filming which did take some time to get sorted out and meant we didn’t have as much time at our second location.

Our actresses caused no problems at all and even though we forgot to get another actress to do a small part in our piece before we started filming, this was quickly overcame as we managed to find one without it turning into a big issue.

Once we began our filming, there weren’t any major issues in our first location (a music room) and the group discussed each shot carefully allowing our director to ensure we were on the right track. The filming went quite smoothly and managed to finish on time for our second location.

We had all organised how we were going to get to our next location, however, again there were problems that we couldn’t avoid such as traffic jams and road works which took a huge chunk of our time away and was left with a very small time to film in our second location. Although we did managed to film a couple of shots, we were no where near finished so decided to set another date for the group to film on.

Again, we chose to wait until the next Thursday so that everyone was able to be there. This time we managed to get everything we needed done, including adding a few shots we thought would look good. We ensured that somebody was taking pictures of everyone doing there chosen jobs.

Altogether, the process of filming was very slow and resulted in a lot less time to get our editing done, we shot everything we needed to our satisfaction and hopefully wont have any problems editing what we have.
